A classic…with the addition of hawthorn leaves.  This is a vitalizing warm drink on cold days and pleasant any time. 

Classical preparation: Boil .4 oz/12g of tisane in approx. 34 oz/1litre of water for about 30 mins, pour through sieve or infuser and add 8.5 oz/250ml of milk, add honey to taste.

Preparation with black tea: Boil .4 oz/12g of tisane in approx. 34 oz/1litre of water for about 30 mins.  Add .2 oz/6g black tea and let infuse for another 3 – 5 minutes.  Pour through sieve or infuser and add 8.5 oz/250ml of milk, add honey to taste.

Herbal tisane: Brew at .9oz/2.5g of tisane per 6 oz/180ml serving of water at 176 o F/ 80 o C for 5 – 10 minutes.

Ing: cinnamon, hawthorn petals, ginger, cloves, black pepper and cardamom.
